CHS named top 15 high school in state from recent report

CALERA–In a recent U.S. News and World Report, Calera High School was named the 15th best school in Alabama.

The report discussed how CHS students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate for CHS is 39 percent.

Counting all students and teachers at CHS it brings the total enrollment to 906. Out of all the scores some of the most impressive statistics involved test scores.

CHS scored a 91 percent for proficiency in reading and 93 percent in proficiency in math. U.S. News calculated these values based on student performance on state exit exams and internationally available exams on college–level course work.

CHS scored above the district average, which are 87 percent proficiency in both reading and math.

The U.S. News and World Report reviewed 31,242 U.S. public high schools and out of those, 93 Alabama school made their rankings with CHS being one of them.
